How To Do Lion Yoga Pose
- Begin by kneeling on the ground, buttocks resting on your heels. Lift up the buttocks slightly to cross your right ankle over your left, then sit down back onto your heels. Lift your chest and keep your spine straight.
- Press your palms down onto your knees and spread out your fingers.
- Take a deep breath through your nose, tilt your head slightly towards the ground, open your mouth as wide as possible and stick out your tongue so it is curling towards your chin. Widen your eyes and make your facial muscles tense.
- Exhale loudly, making a sort of guttural “ha” sound.
- Roar several times then re-cross your legs so your left ankle is now over your right; repeat the pose.
Notes
- Breathe deeply through each step.
- Consult an instructor or doctor is you have a history of knee injuries before attempting this pose.
Tips
